J ardena Garner-Phu is the owner and head baker of Juicy Cookie Company. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY she is an Orthopedic Physician Assistant and a self-taught baker; she has been baking various desserts from the age of 8. In 2014 she and her husband Khai relocated to the Bay Area and settled into their “forever home” in Oakland, CA. After adopting a plant-based lifestyle in 2017, Jardena (“Jay”) experienced amazing health benefits including a 50 pound weight loss, improved skin, mobility and overall vigor. With her revived love of cooking/baking, she took on the challenge to “veganize” her favorite dessert: cookies. A year later, Juicy Cookie Company was born
The mission behind Juicy Cookie Company is to provide high quality vegan baked goods that are low allergen, incredibly tasty and can be enjoyed by all! These homemade cookies are unique with loads of flavor & sweetness from fruits and locally sourced ingredients to make a complex, juicy, and sophisticated dessert.
The best compliment a Juicy Cookie Company cookie can get is “I can’t believe it’s vegan?!” The goal was always to prove that butter doesn’t necessarily make it better. Juicy Cookie Co. cookies are not only surprisingly vegan, but addictively delicious - the flavors will definitely keep you craving for more, as there are quite different that what’s currently available in the market. In addition, Juicy Cookie Co. has a lactation cookie affectionately called the “Juicy Momma Cookie” - a vegan Oatmeal Fruit n’ Chocolate Chip Cookie with added flax, brewer’s yeast, blessed thistle and moringa to help new mothers with breast milk production.
